The summertime is the best time to unwind. You can sit back, relax and chill. All the hard work & strides you made have paid off and now you get to recharge your batteries. In one of my recent blog posts, I #unpacked some summer self care tips that I thought would be beneficial for most of you. When you add fantastic summer movies to those self care tips, you have a perfect, stress free #summer.

Somehow, we have figured out how to do everything you typically do inside, outside. One of those activities is watching a movie. Like I mentioned in my self care blog, I love to be outside (especially when it's NOT humid), and since outdoor movies are a thing- i love to watch movies outdoor in the summertime.
My apartment in New York had specific programs in the summer & every Wednesday we had outdoor movies playing from 4-10pm. As a result, it has become a tradition of mine to watch as many outdoor movies as I can. This summer specifically, I haven't seen an outdoor movie yet, but its on my bucket list of things to do for the last month.
There are so many movies in theater that you should be checking out to unwind from a humid day. One movie I recently saw was The Lion King, which was live action & I enjoyed that so much. There is nothing better than seeing a movie you enjoyed as a kid, revamped for this generation. It was interesting & although it was not my favorite version (because the original always is), I enjoyed unwinding. Another Live action movie I saw this summer was Aladdin. Growing up, Aladdin was one of my favorite cartoons so the live action was definitely something to get use to, but those two live actions are must-sees.
Now onto some classics. Some of my favorite movies are from the early 2000's. One of my favorite movies from 2006 is She's the Man & was based off of a famous play by Shakespeare called Twelfth Night. Amanda Bynes, the main actress, poses as her brother while hes off chasing his dream to play in a band. The movie follows the complications that come with this fraudulent act.
Another classic movie I love, is High School Musical 2! In the summer, the crew takes on a new Adventure while working at a country club all together. It's a mix of fun & conflict + music... it doesn't get better than this.
Another movie I love, starring one of my inspirations Gabrielle Union, is 10 Things I Hate About You. Obviously an iconic movie along with Breakfast Club, Clueless & Mean Girls, but there's something special about this movie. If you haven't watched it yet, I won't spoil it, & if you have, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
there are so many movies to watch & i'm constantly recommending movies on my Instagram story @lekemamsal. check that out if you'd like some more movie inspo!
